Any tricks to avoid use Back/Home Button

Hie,

My phone's screen has a crack covering just the back/Home on screen buttons making the phone unusable. However i use cortana to deal with the websites/Apps but the apps can't be closed,right. .? This has drained the battery so well. Any possible Task killer apps('Yup,Its not Android,Proudly') but for the sake of usability, Can you please tell me any way to use the phone without much relying on those two buttons. .?

A better solution is to replace the digitizer glass on your phone. Very cheap to do so.

So if its just a crack in the glass but the underlying LCD is ok, you just have to replace the digitizer?

My question is there is no standard repair cost maintained every Priority cares in India.
So how much will it cost. . ? Phone is working pretty fine as before except i can't go back and Can't kill /multi task or go to home screen. Thats it.
p.s : in one shop they says my lcd is broken and needs replacement for INR 5000. (Bought this phone for INR 7000)
