Any way to SIM Unlock a Lumia?

I am looking to purchase a Windows Phone to try out Windows 10 Mobile. Is there a way to SIM unlock Lumias for free?
Coming from Android, there is usually a free way to SIM unlock a phone.

I am looking at a Lumia 930 as it seems like the highest spec'd phone although it was released a while ago now. Or the 1520, but its a little more expensive.
Are these the highest spec'd Lumias out right now?

Why don't you just buy an unlocked phone? Usually, they cost the same or, sometimes, they're even cheaper than carrier branded phones.

Yeah, those are still the top of the league Windows Phones. If I were you, I would wait until December. Even though you may not want to buy the latest and greatest 950 / 950XL, I am pretty sure that prices will go down dramatically on 930s and 1520s once the new phones are out.

Unlocks go by carrier... So a 1520 that is ATT branded, ATT can give the unlock code and will easily if the device is not on contract. Ditto T-Mo. Vzw has an unlocked SIM tray out of the box.

As Tumultus says, why not get one already unlocked?
