Anyone else decided not to upgrade to 8.1?

After to multiple installs of the 8.1 DP and Update 1 over the last month, and reading accounts from users who have installed official Cyan/8.1, I've decided to not install them. The battery drain issues, IE 11 being released in beta form, the unnecessary removal of and replacement of the Music, Video, and Podcast functions with appallingly bad beta quality apps, the flakey Bluetooth stack. I'm just going to opt out until they get this trainwreck under control. Which will probably be in late summer of 2016 judging by Verizon's update record. Anyone else had it with this?

No. AT&T has formally released 8.1 and cyan for my device. I have no battery problems, I have no qualms with either the music or videos app, they both work fine and the music app in particular has more features than the 8.0 one did. I find the ability to edit a playlist to be much more important than having the hub that I never used anyway.

I have had zero problems with Bluetooth and zero problems with Bluetooth low energy devices that cyan enabled compatibility with.

Internet explorer itself is slightly better and faster on 8.1 vs 8.0, however I have found that the tweak to get the iPhone version of pages has caused more harm than good. That's update 1 though, not 8.1 itself.

You did not experience 8.1- you experienced some buggy form of it. It could be your install was botched somehow, it could be that your device just misbehaves for whatever reason. But a working 8.1 is objectively better than a working 8.0, and deciding to not upgrade to 8.1 would be insanity.

I'm absolutely certain I was running 8.1. The latest versions downloaded from the DP server. Which, from what I understand, IS the official release version. I've done the hard resets, soft resets, and installing everything from scratch. IE constantly runs in the background even when blocked, the phone gets hot to the touch when browsing, there ate huge periods of random battery drain. I'm not the only person having these problems. Are you calling us liars? Are you calling me a liar? Insanity, is it? Are you always this condescending? There is nothing wrong with my device, it has, and does, work perfectly with 8.0. If the Cyan update from Verizon fixes these issues, then I'll gladly return here to say so. Until then, no way.

I suggest you read more carefully next time. I did not dismiss your experiences, I merely told you that what you experienced is not representative of how 8.1 actually is, and for the vast majority of users at that.

There's that condescension again, with a big ol' side of solipsism. Please explain the threads of people running Cyan/8.1 official having these same problems. Are they insane? Do they have faulty hardware that seemed to work perfectly with 8? Or are you lashing out because you're too emotionally attached to an inanimate device? I didn't insult your mother, you know...

Yes, you aren't the only one having such problems, and nowhere did I imply you were. These problems are a vocal minority, and I repeat, they are not representative of what 8.1 is actually like for the majority of us.

I'd tell you to read more carefully again, but I suspect you can read just fine, and the real problem is you're rather annoyed that your thread has not been met with open arms from similarly tormented souls to commiserate with you, to pat you on the back and validate your every complaint.

You asked for a discussion and you go off the handle when the first reply is not agreeing with you. You may have interpreted my posts as talking down on you before, and I apologize for that misunderstanding. Let it not be misunderstood that with this post I have most certainly been condescending, as my tolerance for self-congratulatory, circle-jerk threads is not quite what it used to be.

Good day to you.

Alright, alright. Let me be a third person here. You're on Verizon, which means you either have the 928 or Icon, which either way, doesn't have Cyan yet. Alright, I can see how that is a problem, I have a 920 that's been on DP from day one, so I don't want to downgrade just to upgrade. I've also read about the problems, and they're present, sadly (at least with the random battery issues, the music bit is a personal preference, but I like telling Cortana what playlist to play too much). So, yeah; stay on 8.0 for a bit, no worries, as long as you enjoy the phone in your hands, nobody can ask for more.

Hopefully though, Cyan will come out before Denim starts, or these forums will have something else to complain about... Come on Verizon, come on Microsoft, work some magic.
