Anyone else see *dramatic* battery improvement after 1314 update?

Well, 1314 is better than awful 1308 (at least in terms of idle battery drain), but overall not much difference between it and 1249 - the phone can still idle at about 2% per hour of battery drain (which is perfectly acceptable), BUT as soon as I start actually using it for browsing and with various apps - the battery immediately starts to drain with up to 26% per hour of battery usage... Rebooting it doesn't help much (only helps for idle power consumption), disabling "background tasks" also doesn't do anything useful... This is a second replacement already, not sure if I'll bother witn the third one :-/

In some cases it could be that battery level is miss reporting. I charged my phone before going in to bed and now in after 10 hours with no use it has drainer down to 61% (4% in hour). I restarted phone and now it shows 87% (1,5% in hour which is normal). My phone definitely miss reports charge levels and rebooting returns it to normal.

I have no new update and i just hope there will be some fixes to it. Charging phone messes battery level.

This is a quick follow-up to my message yesterday. I rebooted my phone last night. I checked my phone at 2pm today and my battery was at 87%. So, that is dramatically better than it was yesterday.

This is probably what is going on with my phone. Rebooting makes phone report battery level accurately again. Juice is in battery even when it shows that it is almost depleted. Reboot and you recover 50% battery life.

Rebooting doesn't actually make battery last longer. It just makes phone report battery level correctly.

I have Lumia 820 and I face the same issue.Every morning I restart my phone and gain 15-20% of battery.I didn't update yet.If the update fixes the issue , no problem. Otherwise someone should inform nokia or microsoft regarding this issue.

Well this is strange. First 2 weeks my battery wouldn't last more than 5-6 hours. Now after 2 weeks of use, it lasts easily more than a day. 2 am now and still at 60%. Strange behavior.

I haven't been actively trying to monitor battery life, but since getting 1308 on Rogers, I feel there's more staying power...ie less need to charge it with my usual day to day activities. Now that it looks like we're all getting 1314, looking forward to another step in the right direction.

I've always had great battery life. After updating to 1314 my phone went from 100% to 9% about 4 hours. My grandkids had played some games for about 20 mins (on the drive home from their school). They've done this before and it didn't affect anything. After dinner I checked my phone and it was dead. I was really worried. But I recharged to 100% and then did a reboot and since then it's been great. I think one of the games was running in the background and drained it.

Glad to be back to normal.

I hate to resurrect a thread that hasn't seen any action in a week, but my battery life has been abysmal since the update.
Prior to the latest update (what was it, 1308?) I got my battery to a state where I could get a full day out of it. Then it got better with 1308, but now, it is terrible. I was using my phone earlier while it was at 75% (after being off the charger for five hours) then within an additional five hours it completely died.

Maybe it's something with the towers in my area, but it is certainly damning that this issue was observed right after installing the 1314 update.

And no, I don't have any programs (Drive included) running in the background, other than Weather channel and my Battery Meter, neither of which have given me trouble in past.

If you're using the phone non-stop for an hour, 26% is completely normal, and relative to the battery stats of L920's major competition, that is actually good. There is no fully functional, large-screened smartphone on the market today that will give you better. Its definitely an area for improvement, but changing phones won't fix your problem. Further, the S3 drains roughly 3x faster on standby than L920, don't know about iPhone.

Yeah, I noticed the battery was lasting much longer. Although, I did notice the battery draining faster than it was charging when I've got the GPS running. Oddest thing. I'm going to look into that.
