Although 8.1 update one has improved my browser experience for some websites it has also degraded the browser experience for others. For instance if you go to ebay.com be it desktop or mobile setting on your phone, it will immediately take you to the wap.ebay.com site not even the mobile site and the wap site is for feature or dumb phones, I can't even get an option to get to the true mobile site anymore also wired.com doesn't even load correctly at all.

I now have to use uc browser a lot more often or jumbo between IE and UC more often to get the best browsing experience.

Anyone else seeing this? I'm on a lumia 930 cyan + update 1

Same here, but for me the number of sites fixed with the update far exceeds the number it broke. eBay I just use the app; no big deal there. I agree about wired.com being a problem (I just checked) but it's not a site I regularly visit. In fact, none of the sites I regularly use have a problem.
We should have Opera Mini soon which would serve as a good alternate browser whenever necessary. I would prefer it over UC.

I have lots of rendering problems on alot of different pages that used to work on 8.1. As it is work in progress I hope it get better in future updates, I would not be happy if this was the coming webbrowsing experience.

Update one was able to fix some websites and improve them, but messed up a bunch of other ones. It has been positive, but the browser still isn't perfect yet,

I cannot get idrudgereport.com to load with the updated browser. Before, it would be no problem, now it just has a blank page.

No, but the browser keeps losing/forgetting the tabs I have open. Perhaps a sync issue, where it gets overwritten with a No Tabs Open state?

the rendering problem may not occur with you but its happening with a lot of people, I think this is a global issue, I hope ms is aware of this and will fix it soon, I tire of bouncing between UC and IE, its too much app switching to the same task

If anyone had noticed...
Previously, after the 8.1 update we could watch youtube video even in desktop mode, thanks to the HTML5 improvements by microsoft.
But they took a step back again, as they usually do (music hub, games hub, facebook).
Now if you try to run youtube in desktop mode it says you can't as your browser doesnt support.

All this is happening because of something called the user-agent string manipulation. Previously all webpages interpreted Internet explorer in WP as IE in windows. So they tried load everything supported by desktop browser. But when they introduced user-agent strings, the websites 'think' that we are using an Iphone or Android device.

The blame is on website creators who still haven't optimised their codes for HTML5.

The whole browsing experience is terrible for me now. Lots of sites don't render properly. Even m.yahoo.com for example. Also, it's very inconsistent. Sometimes they do load properly, sometimes they don't. I can't believe that the browser in my BlackBerry Q5 is actually way better.
