I love gadgets. I need medical apps though (standards, like epocrates, and others, like MR and CT guides, etc.)

Before I jump onto another platform, I'd like feedback from the medical community using wp8 on how hard the platform is pushing industry apps like medical.

As an aside, is there integration with Google or Amazon music?

Thanks.
P. S. Left iphone for android and I'll never go back. I'm just interested in taking wp for a spin.

I don't know about the medical apps, but I remember coming across a google music app, so got you covered there :)

Apps are a real problem with Windows Phone, especially speciality apps like this. Epocrates is pretty sensitive it seems about their investments in ecosystems. When they pulled out of WebOS it seemed like it was the deathblow.

hey I am a physician working in the US. I just wanted to inform you that there is a Micromedex app in windows 8 store. If u are a windows phone 8 user like me, what u can do is log into Medscape and pin the drug page to your start screen. You don't have to log in every time u check for a drug , unlike epocrates. Hope this helps.....

The Micromedex app in windows 8 store is beautifully designed!!! u can download it if u have a windows 8 pc or windows 8 rt...

yeah Micromedex works well and looks good on the Surface RT.

I use UpTODate on it a lot too. Hope they come up with a WP8 version.

I too am on the fence regarding switvhing to WP8 because of medical apps.

I will be watching the apps development closely. Maybe there will be more by the time the Lumia 920 comes to Verizon :)

Unfortunately medscape and epocrates is a little hard headed right now. Been asking them to release an app since the release of windows phone 7. They keep referring to just loading their webpage on the phone instead. So far the only real medical apps are the Merck suite and central medicine which both cost over $100. I got the Merck suite which has been good to me so far.

Im using the MPR app now and its serving the purpose right now.

Up-to-date has made the jump to the phone. Very slowly getting there. MPR is also another pretty decent app for medical information. There was an epocrates 3rd party interface, but that looks to have been taken down. You still might be able to find the xap for an offline install (not sure if this'll work, but if you have a dev unlock might be worth a shot). Hoping Micromedex makes the jump especially with their Windows 8 app already coded. Also hoping Lexicomp comes soon seeing that Up-to-date has made the jump.
