Anyone have #flickergate issue on 2017 Surface Pro?

I'm getting this issue on my SP4 - wondering if it's safe to upgrade to the 2017 model to avoid it.
 
So far mine has been fine, no light bleed or this issue, but then it is only 2 months old. Fingers crossed...
