i dont think overheating is a good question. if my phone overheated alot then it would be dead from processor damage. i think "occasionally warmer than normal?" is a better question.

Never had a freeze or restart, however since Portico the screen can stop responding to touch (except the three buttons) until standby and resume only while on the HTC charger.

yes, the screen could behave funny when charging. I guess it will change its static electricity during charging. maybe that's why they don't recommend using during charging.

The phone has never frozen or restarted. Once it got "stuck" on the start screen for 30 seconds, and appeared to be frozen, but then continued to work fine with no intervention.
