In storage check what is the "others" and how do I get rid of it?

Also, along with apps, there is app data. It increases when I use an app, how do I get rid of apps' app data?

Also, I downloaded some PDF files and it seems it stored in my internal memory. How do I move it to SD card?

I haven't connected my phone to a PC to use manage its internal or SD memory yet. Do I have to connect the phone to PC to do all of what I asked above?

1. There are some ways to pull this off, like Shrink Storage, for instance, as far as I know. Also, delete IE history at settings>internet explorer.
2. Some apps allow you to clear cache, but other than those that do, reinstall.
3. You can't. At least until WP8.1, and even then you can't do it if the app doesn't take advantage of it.
4. You can pull this off with music+video, photos and maps on your phone. The first two are much easier to manage on a PC.

Where can I use this shrink storage option?

Alright, thanks.

8.1? Do you mean that it can be done by the rumoured file manager that we may get in blue?

So what's in the internal memory that can't be read by WP stays in the internal memory forever (unless we get a file manager or I reset the phone)?
For example, if I download a zip file (or a pdf file as said above) it can't be read by WP and not even be moved to sd card memory with the help of a PC?
