App Store averaging over 1,500 per week

Do you really think it will dilute the band? When people want the original they will always make sure they find it... Its not like there are not a whole range of apple rip off's out there.

It was a mistake for Microsoft to not lock down the hardware specs. Now we're getting a flood cheap Windows Phones that only dilute the brand. What we really needed was 1 superphone like what Apple does.

I disagree. You risk having phones that perform sluggish, freeze up, etc. Whereas now they can guarantee a level of quality within the handset. Have you ever had mid tier android phone operate compared to the Nexus or high end android device. It is night and day. I think that wrecks the brand more than having similar hardware specs.

The whole reason I may pick up a Windows Phone ( come on Nokia bring me one in the US) is because I want that solid experience compared to Android. I currently use a Nexus One and it has been a great phone but if I don't have the option of Galaxy Nexus subsidized on at&t then it is going to be a slam dunk Nokia running Mango/Tango. If I have the choice between the two it is going to a few days of lamenting over which one to get.

In that case I would move carriers and keep an eye out for Apollo. Personally. I severely doubt WP7 Tango will be a Mango level update and depending on how you use your phone (even if you didn't root or tinker with your Nexus, I don't do that on my Vibrant) you may find the experience lacking behind the cute home screen and snappy transitions.

**** I'm already planning my carrier change to AT&T from T-Mobile for that reason. I need more functionality, and it's not even power user stuff I want and need that WP7 falls short on ATM. I do think it's a great communications platform, though, especially for people with busy WLM networks and heavy Facebook users.

An app marketplace should be naturally expanding if you think about it. The marketplace has already shown that it is possible to make a lot more money with WP7 than Android, due to the sheer competition over there. With a small marketplace, devs would see that as an opportunity to "get in first" and make their money. So it would grow quickly. Over time, it would begin to level off, but not before it approaches the others in size.

Try not to feed the troll. KingCrimson has been making posts in a lot of threads, obviously trying to troll us. What they do not realize is that most people on this forum like Windows Phone, and either own or intend to own one in the future, so crimsons posts really have no effect on us.
Also, the post makes no sense. He said ''It was a mistake to not lock down the hardware specs'' when they indeed have locked down the specs.

If the next argument from KingCrimson is that it's not as locked down as Apple's, please note that Apple makes three different phones with significantly different performance levels (3GS, 4, and 4S), so WP7 chassis specs are actually MORE rigid at the moment than Apple's.

Might as well hit the ground running when disproving misinformation.
