I've installed everything, co pilot gps, games, whatsapp and social media, music, photos - all to sd card, no issues. Make sure you use a class 10 card though. On my 1520 I do not get any lag loading and playing asphalt 8 - I don't know how it will be on a lower spec phone, bit I believe it's at least tolerable.

Class 10 card means? I have regular 8GB SD card from a local shop. I don't think it's 100% original.
If you guys install apps on sd card where do you save music,videos and photos? Phone or SD ?

Class 10 cards can read up to 22mb per sec this depends on the quality of the card write speeds are usually lower.
I use Samsung microSD UHS type cards and these have served well.

I have my phones with SD cards set to store everything that can be stored out of phone memory on SD.
Never had a video glitch, missing picture or any other media loss or problem saving on good quality external memory.
