Are the issues with the 930 still there?

Hi JaniM, does it happen often? My 830 gets warm after a bit of heavy gaming but never too hot. I read that it's common on the 930 with web browsing, videos, gaming and even taking pictures?

Nope, I have to really stress my phone to get it hot. Some websites do stress the phone a lot but they're generally not optimized for mobile anyway. Lots of dynamic content, flash, animations etc.

I have a Lumia 930 since October 2014.
1. On Cyan it had heating issue, on Denim it does not have the burning feeling in the right bottom corner.
2. The jumping text, large pictures, is present. But this is due to it's size, not because of it's amoled screen. The WP API for displaying pictures on 5" devices is broken. If you notice, smooth scrolling is available on apps that have thumbnails smaller than the screen, ex. my tube has perfect scrolling but the thumbnails are not from edge to edge, if you scroll on facebook or 6tag you get jumping pictures. Blame Joe Belfiore and his ****ty dev teams.
3. That flickering from the video is not present. But you will get washed out colours sometimes, depending on the firmware you have (or flash). So you will have to go to display app and move the cursors around until you get what you like.
4. As for all amoled screen, the white is not white, if you are more towards white backgrounds instead of black then be prepared.
5. WP 8.1 has an issue with black backgrounds on 930, meaning it's more laggy when it needs to move pixels (strangely enough). Quite easy to reproduce this, select theme with black background, go to Skype and press to type, when the keyboard rise up you will see the white screen when it is pushed up, the animation it's not smooth, it's lagging. Now go back to themes, change to white background, launch Skype and press to type, when the keyboard rises the animation is fluent, perfectly smooth. You will see this behavior in other apps as well, for example when a facebook picture is loading, on the top the 3 white dots that are moving, will get a laggier animation when it goes past middle screen.
6. Battery life, this is depending on what you do, but I mostly can have my phone around 10h (however I have all the crap open, everything you can think of I have it enabled).
7. Amoled screen has ghosting, everybody knows that, just scroll text and you will see. It's easier to see the blur on white background.
8. Interference on Edge, but who uses Edge these days? right? (oh wait, country side)
9. Camera has a problem with the sensor, basically it starts in landscape even though you hold it vertically.
10. on GDR2 the sound sometimes goes flat, you have to reboot it to get it back.
11. Even though there are 10 reasons to not like this phone, it still beats the **** out of any Android flagship, why? because simply it runs smooth in any occasion.

Hi, I just purchased Lumia 930 a week back and i see that the screen get really hot. It wasnt a problem on 830 but i have to switch off the phone to use...it...am wondering how to solve this issue now. Any help would be appreciated..

Avid Windows Phone user that followed all of the issues of the 930 when it first launched. Came to the conclusion that it was like any other phone, with lemons and bugs of its own. I'm sure the majority of phones were fine, and especially this far removed from launch. As xandros said, those kinks were probably all worked out.

Just ordered a white/gold Lumia 930 for my mother. That thing is gorgeous! Who knows, may just keep it for myself. She loves her 1520 anyway :grin:

Never had those issues & I am from an old iOS(Iphone 4s) and I can garuantee that you wont be dissapointed with Lumia 930...
