Are updates still expected for Windows 10 Mobile

I'm currently running 1709 on a Lumia 950 XL. The last few updates seemed to have made the phone very unstable when it otherwise ran very well.

A lot of screen jitters, the phone shutting down or the screen being unresponsive sporadically. I've seen this with several 950 and 950XL and don't know if this is just a software thing that will eventually be rectified or are the phones just going bad or will they leave it in this state.

Just need to know if Microsoft still plans on releasing patches or is it over.

Security patches and bug fixes only, no updates as in new features.
