Article about throwing all your eggs into the Android and Apple basket

If they had discussed trying to do some Windows 10 apps and let the Verge know that was part of their plan on getting back on top, then the Verge would have left it out. Hard to know if they were thinking of doing that anyway.
 
I wonder if the reason for this is that most people have little to no interest in "quirky independent apps". Those remind me of one-hit wonder bands. They're a novelty.

Most people might not care about those types of apps (or bands). They want mainstream apps from big companies such as Facebook, their bank, Amazon, etc.
