:excl: If you plan on pre-ordering today (or any day until next Thursday) at an AT&T COR store, then you must have a credit/debit card for the purchase of the phone. I was told this by the AT&T rep when checking out, so all you with a shoebox of cash, deposit it and use your card. :excl:

That's because AT&T takes financial liability for the pre-order of the phone, and with the debit/credit card on file, AT&T will then charge your card when the phone actually ships. It's like having insurance that AT&T uses to allow pre-orders to take place

I've never ordered phones through AT&T so this was new to me. I just hope no one goes to the store with their shoebox of cash hoping to get it pre-ordered. I guess it would be OK if it were a direct purchase?
