Anybody know of any support in the WP8.1 SDK for developers to make applications for music creation? Right now iOS is obliterating WP and Android in this market. Granted it's a niche market, but it's a loud market when every band/DJ out there has their stage covered in Apple gear.
I would support for things like:
- MIDI
- OSC (Open Sound Code)
- Low latency audio playback (DJ software/samplers/synths)
- Low latency live audio through the headphone jack (for guitar/vocal effects)
- Support for audio interfaces
- MIDI over Wifi
Right now I'm forced to keep an iPod Touch on hand so that I control our audio mixer. I would also love to see this built into the Universal Apps SDK; right now the only way to get proper audio software is through traditional Windows programs (I would love to have my 2520 at gigs).
