Audio not recording on Instagram Stories on my 930

Hey all, hoping someone had a similar problem or I'm missing something obvious...

When I record a video using the camera in Instagram, there is no audio on playback. If I record video using the built-in camera app, there is no issue and audio plays fine.

Has anyone else had this issue or have ideas for a solution?

It's the app itself, after the recent updates both messenger and instagram freeze at start up.. they simply do nothing at all when you press / tap anything. The FB app (non MS) is also woefully slow and unresponsive.
