I've been playing music through the 3.5mm headphone jack, and for some reason the audio seems real low quality. when I turn it up it distorts, but the same high quality mp3 on iPod doesn't have the same distortion. sounds much higher quality almost like a HQ mp3 vs a low quality one. Why is it so much difference?

Make sure your headphones are all the way plugged in. Also in Zune settings (on your computer) set max bitrate to something higher, probably 320 kbps. This way you get higher fidelity and less compression when transferring your music to your phone.

I found this to be the case too when listening to my Trophy through headphones. But when listening through a headphone amp or through my car speakers (I think the signal goes through a preamp...), it sounds great! So, I thought that it was HTC skimping on something.

I think that phone manufacturers should pay a little more attention to the audio quality of their phones if they're pushing media (with Zune and Zune Pass!).
