Audio setting has update 3/17/14

Yes, I got excited too....just for a part of the second :D
I don't believe that NL 520 is not capable of handling a simple equalizer. any ?50 android phone could do so, so why not 520 !? Another thing is that before it used to say: enhancements under audio setting, but now it says: equalizer and enhancements

Software EQ is computationally expensive, especially when talking about ARM platforms with little RAM. The units that do have an EQ actually have the capability built-in on the SoC if I'm not mistaken.

My NL 1020 took the update but to tell the truth I did not notice any change in sound level. It sounds the same as before. It reset everything, but once I put it back to how it was set it is the same.

Was anything to change???? Louder? Clearer?

Mine just did this today. Thought maybe that was what Audio update was fixing, but guess not. This is 928, post Black/GDR3 updates as well...

lumia 925 has a bug that sometimes when you connect your phone and the music is playing, when you volume down or up, it doesn't do anything, but if you restart the song, it starts playing to the last volume you set while the music was playing..

you had to restart your phone in order to volume up and the music goes up too, maybe that's what has been fixed

Mine did it one or twice in my L720 after GDR3 update..

The equalizer only can be set if connected to a device via the auxiliary jack.

Im hoping that they can push out Bluetooth headset support for the equalizer in 8.1 - anyone with the sdk installed - can you confirm this yes / no?

Seriously?
It's not that unlikely that the 520's SoC doesn't support hardware-accelerated EQ, and everything else would stutter, drain the battery massively etc.
Just because you see the UI for an EQ doesn't mean they intentionally disabled the function for your device..
