Auto backlight issue

Is there any way to customize the auto backlight settings in mango? The screen is always too bright indoors and too dim outdoors. I am thinking of something like the Lux app in Android, or maybe hoping Apollo will fix this problem.

Something may come in Apollo but for now I dont think there is an app or setting to do that it either automatic or manual.

"Automatic" doesn't appear to do anything (I never noticed the screen brightness actually change, on 4 different phones).. it just looks to be "medium-low."

On the Focus S the screen will change quite alot in direct daylight but not so much since the 8107 update.
