Back up hanging at 13%?

Hi all, some months back the back up on my lumia 930 running 8.1 started hanging whenever I try to run it. The phone mic has also stopped working when I use speaker mode (don't know if connected but seemed to start happening around the same time). Also in the past month or so my phone has started using way more background cell data than before and when I look at the usage it's listing a lot for data to restore 250mb over cell plus 250mb over wifi.
Any suggestions appreciated.

check which apps are set to back up and try removing one at a time and attempting backup. Some of the apps that can backup might have a large size for backup.
Can you check which apps are using the data in the background?
