Backup failure

Trying to backup (Blue winhd LTE. 8.1) to be ready for 10 upgrade (eventually!), but keeps failing. Settings appear to backup but take up zero space on onedrive and no files visible, apps backup stops at 11% (although WiFi lights keep flickering looks like activity, but even after 4 hours still 11% - weird).
Anybody else seen this or fixed?

ive noticed that something is wrong sometimes sticks at 42% now at 0% and last backup was over a week

Yeah. I have been noticing the same problem. Though mine sticks at 98%, which is pretty much nerve wrecking.

Although I only do settings and apps I've notice that the problem is possibly an app maybe a game because I tried only settings and backup finishes fine

I tried just settings. That too gives me same problem.

I had some of the apps on my sd card and I removed it without uninstalling them. I reinserted it and back-up works fine.
