Band 2 Competition - Garmin Vivosmart HR+

Garmin has announced a new unit: v?vosmart? HR+. This looks more head-to-head with the Band 2 then the vivoactive HR talked about before.

Still water resistant to 5 ATM, so reasonably swim-proof. And supposed to last 5 days or 8 hours GPS. Unlike the vivoactive, it doesn't sound like it can use chest straps for HR. At least, none are listed as accessories.

I didn't see any spec for thickness, so it could be clunky.

I think it is basically the same size as the vivosmart hr (pretty small).

Nice features but at $220 it lacks a color display? More pro than casual.

I can't say as the color does much for the Band. It does look nicer, but I can't recall any place it was really used except for nice wall paper.

I wasn't thinking of it being positioned specifically against MSB2, more against the range of devices currently at $200+. For $220, the Vivosmart HR+ should have at least a color display. It doesn't have to be OLED but color is information.
