Band is also suffering at the same point with WP. On Verge it says Apple Watch got 8500 apps already. Microsoft released the SDK, create an option to make webtiles. But the only things we have are, an app changes the background, an app makes your band vibrate to find it, an app lights your band up. That's it. When you lookat the "Other apps for band" section in one of these apps. We have maximum 50 apps and 20 of them are for to do the same thing, change the background. What could be the solution for this? What is Microsoft doing wrong? Okay market share cannot be as big as other wearable, but there is Microsoft, a software company, shouldn't they create some apps and encourage people?

The answer is simple.
1-The biggest problem is low market share: they released the band in very low numbers in US and UK (not WP loving countries).
2-Second problem is SDK constraints are too strict.
3-Third problem is bad design of the bracelet itself.

While point 2 and 3 can be addressed with band V2, point 1 can only be partially resolved by releasing the Band worldwide, but then Windows phone marketshare needs to grow quickly.

Your comparing apples to lunchboxes. 2 totally different types of devices that are wearables.

Ask any apple watch user how many apps they actually use on their iwatch......most don't even know how to use 2 or navigate it. But they can quote app quantity and justify it being superior........oh joy im impressed.....NOT.

Keep in mind.....this first version of the band was a sort of experiment into what a wearable could be and not just aimed at being a basic smart watch or fitness tracker. Its totally a hybrid, just wait for the next gen to drop soon!

I would love to see a windows smart watch added to their line. That Nokia one that got pitched out looked nice.

The MSB is a Fitness tracker with a few smart features to help keep you connected. It is not an app repository. You want an app toy on your wrist, buy a different product. You want an excellent fitness tracker, then the band has proven to very good if not the best for the price point.

I think a hybrid is a much better way to describe the Band. It does fitness and sleep tracking very well, and has enough smartwatch features to make that a very important and useful part of what it does. You can have your phone volume turned off and still know if you got any important calls, texts, or emails. Combined with IFTTT and pushalot, you can get just about anything pushed to your band. It doesn't need 8500 apps. If that is important to you, get a Apple Watch and a t-shirt that tells everyone how many smartwatch apps you have.
