I use a recumbent bike for daily exercise. I tried the Cycling function today and it measures time and heart rate. I would like to be able to enter the distance traveled ( as measured by the bike itself ) for a more accurate picture, but see no way of doing that. I believe that would occur if I was on a regular bike with GPS on.

Is there another way to enter that data ?

Wouldn't the cycling function with gps give you the same result with a recumbent as with a standard bike?

Ah, got ya. Unfortunately, there's no way I know of to do this with MS Health currently. Hopefully they'll eventually add the ability to edit activities. You could use Endomondo or Runkeeper, and sync to HealthVault using FitnessSyncer, but you still can't get it into 'Health'.

Seems to be an issue with RunKeeper that it will not draw the data from cycling activities, maybe due to the fact that cycling activities were added after the Band was originally introduced. The other issue with RK is that you cannot upload a GPX file and get all of the information out of it (HR, Distance...)

Agreed, RunKeeper is not my favorite and somewhat limited, but it is one of the few apps out there that support the Band directly. Hopefully they'll get up to speed with the cycling transfer. There has been a forum petition on the Endomondo boards requesting votes for Band support, but I have no idea how that's going.

I bought a Schwinn 270 Recumbent Bike, and it allows you to track distance. It tracks up to 4 separate users, has easily selectable "programs" and all the other typical features, allows you simply plug in your MP3 player or phone (cord provided) and listen to music on the built-in speakers while you ride.
