battery is getting hot

Hot as in warm or hot but touchable? Probably okay for now if you're using wireless charging or working the phone.

Heat can damage a battery at the extreme but I dont recall where the threshold is.

if it gets too hot, the phone will shut off by itself and you'll have to wait until it cools down
