battery life from 100-0 in less than 90 min using kik only ..

my 920 had 4% this morning and went off. I couldn't be bothered to charge it. 2 hrs later i plugged it in and it turned on with 43%. Very strange....

Hi, Sorry to say this but this advice is wrong. The KIK app IS a battery eater and does cause your battery to overheat and drain very quickly. I am on my 3rd mobile phone replacement now because of KIK as i returned the other two back to vodafone as the battery got so hot and drained so quick. Some apps (not many) do do this to some Lumia phones and i truly dont know why.

My previous two phones had KIK on and it was awful with the battery, the third i installed kik when i found after a week of owning my 1020 and leaving in an as out the box state with no apps installed apart from the ones it came with. My battery lasted for 2-3 days with calls and texts to my wife and daughter all day every day. I installed KIK and nothing else. My battery drained in 9 hours without much use and with not using KIK, i charged it, used KIK the following day and it drained my phone flat in less then 2hrs use.

Its not the hardware, its the software.... KIK.

The litium battery's lifetime is something 500 to 1000 full charging. It could be the battery is spending last days. Warranty is only 6 moths for the battery.

Which is weird. For me my battery life, for the most part, IMPROVED when they turned on LTE here compared to HSPA.

Edit: Just to echo what everyone else says, Kik will RAPE your battery on WP. If it's just running in the background it isn't TERRIBLE (better in 8.1 than it was with 8.0) but when it is active I hope you have a charger handy.

You would think if Kik is so popular, they would rectify the issue. What good is it if I am communicating on Kik and I have my whole day ahead of me and my battery is dead before I even get to work or wherever I am going? It was so bad on my phone that even with the charger plugged in, the battery would drain. Deleted the app and all is well.
