Battery life observation

I have an unlocked Lumia 950 with the most current production build> (10586.318)

I noticed that changing Lumia Motion Data setting from Enhanced down to Basic resulted in dramatic battery life gains. I mean 30-40% gain at least! (I must have played around this setting when I first activated the device in January)

good observation - isn't lumia motion related to sensorcore data?

But be aware that setting the level to "Basic" may affect apps that use the motion sensor data.

This doesn't work for phones that don't have sensorcore, does it? I'm pretty sure my lumia 1020 won't have this setting

The handset owned by the OP, the 950, has sensorcore.

I've had my DS950 setting on basic from the start and I've always enjoyed good battery life. Now there might be a connection to this setting. That's good to know.

If you want precise data, then set motion data collection to Enhanced. Yeah, disabling motion data saves battery a lot.
