Just wanted to hear from Surface 3 users on their experiences post update. I'm thinking of updating but see that a lot of posts are up of people with Pro 3 and Surface book owners complaining of battery life. Thanks for any insights.

Protip: Moved to the Opera Beta browser and it seems to add an extra hour to my Surface 3 battery. Turning off the animation helped too.

Decided to just take the plunge with the update.

Initial impressions are promising. When I first charged the Surface 3 fully, the battery "time left" indicator read 11hrs and 20 minutes. This is with the WIFI on but on a static app that consumes little power (Scrivener). I opened up a graphic novel and read it for about 30 minutes and the battery stayed above 10hrs. When I kicked on the Opera Beta browser and began clicking around it went down to 6 hours. This, compared to pre update, initial time left was 9hrs and 45 minutes with Scrivener and 5 hours using the browser. I have the 128gb 4gb Surface 3. If I can get a consistent 6-7 hours use of multi use in the field (coffeehouses, work, school, home, etc), I'll be happy. Pre update I was getting about 5hrs.

Positive and negative experience on your ends?
