Well, good evening fellow ladies and gentlemans, i do have one ,,clishe" question to ask; like the title say, this topic will be about Nokia/Microsoft..or better say ,,Windows Phone OS battery myths and false facts-true too".
Been in all OS worlds, read all kinds of forum post about: ,,Do THIS to save battery-DO NOT use that funcion because *eat*battery..."etc.. You probaly see where this going.
And on the end of the day who is right and who is ignorant homosapiens.

Let's focus on ,,Windows Phone OS ", what ,,myths" & falce facts do you know; is that ,,fact" tested or not...okay, i see..this is going way to much so i will make a example:

As far i know dark colour on Amoled displays saves battery, but i don't know is it noticible or not; also i read somewhere that ,,,high touch" & ,,duble tap to wake" drain soo much juice that you simply MUST turn them off.. Also ,,glance" and all backgrou...see where this leading(?), i think we gonna be better with Nokia 3310 if this continue growing.

So, fellow brothers and sisters, what are ,,myths" and what are ,,proven facts and we should avoid that" ?

Ps. Any tip any ,,fact" or ,, myth" is highly appriciated.
Thanks!

I'm afraid the fora is not the best place to ask such types of questions. There indeed are a lot who can help here, but unfortunately not all of us have the same set of experiences. It follows, then, that we don't have the same interpretation of those experiences... and then a different understanding of that interpretation of those experiences... resulting in a convoluted soup of information which will be defended (sometimes to the point of insulting others) by whoever volunteered it regardless of basis.

The best way is to gather the knowledge yourself: test your phone and observe the behavior. At the end of the day, you're most likely to test what the forum members have declared as "facts" or "myths" anyway. More importantly, you will be confident about your findings and nobody can argue against that. Besides, a lot of factors can affect battery life (such as cellular coverage), so it's not enough to say that activating a particular set of features for phone A of person J will give the same result for phone B of person K with the same set of features activated.

But here's fact: the less features you use, the longer your battery will last (hint: Li-ion batteries can last for months on a single charge without appreciable loss in charge if you put it in a phone that's turned off).

Here's an opinion: the less features you use, the more money you would have wasted on a device whose features you won't use at all in the first place.

And here's a myth: all forum members are experts.
