Hi All

I've got an i5/256Gb version of the SP3.

With the last round of firmware changes I noticed a significant drop in battery life and wonder if others are experiencing the same.

My SP3 being fully charged I like to unwind by playing a few games of Sudoku (specifically the Microsoft branded game with the daily challenges).
I get maybe 2.5hrs from the battery at most. The tablet is quite warm and the fan definitely kicks in.

I wouldn't think that Microsoft's Sudoku would be such a battery hog but to me it seems that way. Or is it just me?
I'd like to hear from other owners on their battery life experiences...

Cheers

I have the i7 version, and while I haven't noticed any changes in battery life since the firmware update, I don't get anywhere near Microsoft's estimated figures. I reckon I'd probably get a maximum of 3-4 hours before it dies, and that is with e-mail and general web surfing. I was surprised to see that there is no power profile options on the i7 (you cannot change it from the default power profile). I found them very useful on my Surface Pro 2 and kept the machine in Low Power mode.

I definitely notice reduced battery life after the update. The fan immediately turns on when I turn on the surface and I only get a couple hours of web browsing before the surface shuts down.

Has there been any changes or discovery on how to get the other Power Options?

What performance profiles do you guys have selected in desktop? Balanced or Performance?
I always set mine to balanced and haven't had any issues or have had the fan come on.
