BBM beta is up!

I noticed the device got pretty hot when in idle and burned from 98% to 66% battery. I removed BBM, rebooted and after that the device remained cold.

That's not good...

Installed and signed in with my BB account. Saw no contacts at all, everything empty. Also many words are not yet translated in German.

Till now (although I have a Z10 and a Z30) I am not impressed...

my phone got hot too but that was when it was switching my bbm account over
have not been draining my battery or heating up my phone but

i would like the voice notes to work smoother

Ugh! It's a bad week for beta! I can't get Cyan because I'm on PFD 8.1 and now I can't get BBMFW because I have an old BB Beta Zone account where I am in the BBM Beta and another BBBZ account under my WP account where I am not, so I can't seem to download the beta.

I was very chatty with my BetaZone feedback, too. I like the program but it's definitely not ready for prime time. I toasted my access to the WPcentral group when I switched my BBM profile from my L930 to my Z30. It wouldn't sync up and let me in there and when I switched my profile back, I had the same problem. Now, access to the group is gone. My contacts remained throughout the back and forth, though.

I have a general query that was caused by my inability to download the BBM beta even though I had signed up and got the mail from BB that I can install it. So my windows phone store id is abc@live.com whereas while signing up for the beta, i had used the alias abc@outlook.com. Do you think this might have been the reason that I couldn't download it? I had the same experience when I signed up for the toib app beta too. If somebody can ascertain the cause and if there is a way around it, that would be very helpful.

It will be whatever you put in the field for "Microsoft account" when you registered for the app. If their systems can't tell the difference between and alias and real account though then it's something you'd have to take up with them.

What you could try though, is making the alias the main account name temporarily and then trying to download the beta?
