Microsoft changed the name of Bing Image Creator to Image Creator from Designer this week. The change is just the latest in a series of rebrands that minimize the Bing name when it comes to Microsoft AI.

I don't see this as them 'moving away from the Bing brand'. It's more so consolidating products under the respective brands. Image Creator doesn't make sense to be under Bing, it makes more sense to put under Microsoft Designer. And Bing Chat was just simplified to be Copilot because the name previously unnecessarily had too many product names which causes confusion with general public. Bing should only be everything 'search' related.
Bing parent brand - all Search services (it should be, but I know it's not currently for enterprises)
Copilot parent brand- all AI services
Microsoft Designer parent brand - all Design services
Surface parent brand - all Hardware and Accessories
Xbox parent brand - everything Gaming
etc. etc.
