Best display amongst Windows Phones?

Hello. I am looking forward to buying a Windows Phone, and I am looking at the lumia range only. Which phone has the best display quality?

I took a look at the Lumia 930 at the Microsoft Devices store, but left slightly let down on the display quality. Since Windows is mostly a text based OS, the text seems slightly, very slightly, broken, and seems to have edge fringing of colours.

I have used an iPhone 6 and love the display and text quality.

Which Windows phone would you recommend for the best display quality?

The issue you encounter is likely due to the subpixel alignment of the AMOLED display of 930. The screen on 1520 shouldn't have such issue.

Liopleus Lin has a point... Comparing IPS LCD and AMOLED screens is a tough comparison. Some favor one type and some the other.

Having used both, I find IPS very clear while being less strenuous on the eye. If you like IPS the AMOLED screens can be jarring - IF both are set at default. Each style benefits from some tweaks.

Certainly the 930/Icon has a high ppi... But a floor model has most likely not been dialed in. Lumia now has some very nice screen tweaks built into settings. When I was on Android I needed a custom kernel to get my AMOLED to look nice. On Lumia I found it was a bit better at default but still needed some dialing in. I'm back on IPS with the 1520 and I love the screen as it gives a warm, natural look to things.

It is more of a one on one comparison to iPhone 6 - more of a "same ballpark" spec level.

I'd run with looking at the 830 or 1520 which are IPS LCD equipped.

The 930 and 730 are AMOLED equipped, which doesn't seem to quite sit right with you.

And it goes downhill from there down the x30 lineup for the most part.

Hmmmm... ...maybe I wills wit or the next Lumia phones it's a better display?

Why don't they just have three models instead if so many...
