Best offline games WP 8.x \ Windows 8.x

What are the best offline games for either platform? I travel for work a lot and it sucks when I download a game on surface or phone and find out when I'm on plane that it requires network connection. Please share game recommendations and no "just buy WiFi" comments please. Thanks.

Sonic CD for WP8 is amazing, and Xbox-enabled. It's probably my go-to game. There is also Reaper, which is on both WP and W8. Really good. Both are like a couple bucks.
