Best phone for video recording

I'm sure you can find numerous comparison's on Youtube, with video demo's. I'd rather see them for my own eyes anyway, if you're are basing a purchase off that.

I do know when the 1020 came out, the night or low light video was noticeably better than the competition. That was a while ago, however...

sadly there is only comparison between the s5 and z2 or even the note 3, i can't seem to find any 1020vsS5 or z2, yet.

No contest against the new stuff in terms of detail and resolution

Better resolution? well, of course, 1080p vs 4k. But isn't the same as pictures like everyone says more MP don't give you better quality, size and quality of the sensor does, right? so forget about 4k, is really the quality of the videos recorded with the s5 or z2 better than the ones taken with the 1020?

The 1020's OIS is fantastic for smooth video (I'm pretty sure the Z2 doesn't have optical image stabilisation but I'm happy to be corrected) because the whole sensor floats on ball bearings, not to mention the lossless zoom (3x zoom @1080p) but at night on video grain does tend to show up. To put it straight IMO the low-light video quality isn't as magical as the low-light photo quality (for obvious reasons)

I own both the Z2 and 1020, the Z2 does not have OIS but the videos are really well stabilized by software and the 4k resolution is a gimmick wich only records for 3 to 4 minutes. If i really have to choose for quality with no gimmicks i would recomend the 1020. The Z2 is good by smartphone standards (up in the high end) but the 1020 is still in a league of its own, not only video but also the recorded audio is way better than the Z2. The Z2 is really an allrounder wich does not really excels but does everything well (apps, ecosystem, dual speakers, good cam etc).

I can confirm that the fullhd video recording is very well, also in low light conditions you have 30 fps.

Best to check out comparison footage from reviews such as at pocketnow and gsmarena (i believe GSMArena has very through stuff)
