I have a bitlocker enabled lumia and would like to install wp8.1 developer preview

can anyone confirm that bitlocker works already on wp8.1 developer preview

cheers !!

Bitlocker is not an app, but encrypts your phone, only available for the business edition (at least on WP8): but it must be set up at the enterprise level. In order to set up encryption, users must connect the phone to a network running Exchange ActiveSync and choose “RequireDeviceEncryption.” You can see it in Settings > System > phone storage

Can anyone verify if that's the way you find out if you're using bitlocker? I don't know if my company uses it, and my phone doesn't say encrypted right there under storage sense. But storage sense also doesn't look like that app above, it's newer. So I'm looking for a way to absolutely verify whether or not I'm using bitlocker. Thanks.

Best thing to do would be to ask your IT department - they should know (I would be very worried if they didn't know).

Also, a word of caution: Updates to Cyan have been paused for all users of the 8.1 preview because of the Bitlocker issue mentioned here recently, and will stay that way until MS unpauses it when they have found a fix for the issue.

In a nutshell it was a combination of Bitlocker and the 8.1 Preview breaking something after the Cyan update was applied, resulting in a bricked phone that could only be fixed by using Nokia's recovery tool to downgrade it back to 8.0 GDR3+Black, and then updating directly to Cyan, as it includes WP8.1. So MS paused the update for all Preview users (Bitlocker users or not) until they can sort a fix out. This is easier than trying to identify only the affected handsets and pausing the update for them.
