Hi all,
First off i am new here so i apologize if i broke any rules.
So i have a laptop running windows 10. I was just using it as a wireless tethering spot, when i noticed that my wifi had cut out from my phone. So i went to take a look at my laptop to see that my screen had gone completely black with just a cursor.
So here are the troubleshooting steps ive tried from google searching:
booted in safe mode
changed display with windows + p
rolled back display driver
system restore
To describe the problem a little better, I get passed my login screen with no problems but when my windows desktop should appear, its just black. Weird thing is I can run any application from the run feature using task manager. So that being said ctrl alt delete works too. So from the run box I can pretty much do anything, I even managed to run applications like google chrome, but still no desktop will show. To me this doesnt seem like a driver issue but a windows issue. I have yet to try reinstalling windows but to be honest im not entirely sure how to do that. if there is any questions i can answer to help, feel free to ask.
