That's correct. The Dell Venue Pro had a QWERTY keypad. Venue Pro Smartphone with Windows Phone

I LOVE the Dell Venue Pro form factor. I would LOVE a BB10 device like that. What I care less about is a device being super thin and super light: I would rather have it be slightly thicker and have a decent battery. I would love it if I could get WP8 on it, but as it is, the Dell Venue Pro is stuck on WP7.8, forever.

There are things about WP I like a lot, and there are aspects of it that drive me absolutely bat-sh*t crazy, just like on Android and iOS. All round, I'm a BB user, but think that Windows Phone deserves a lot more success and acclaim than it's getting.

I disagree that WP supports keyboards. Yes, they work, but I have the LG Quantum, which is a landscape slider. The home screen does not support landscape mode. This off the bat tells you the OS doesn't truly support the landscape keyboard. Many apps don't have landscape mode, either. So I go to type in an app and I'm looking at the screen sideways. No one can tell me that that's a good experience. It is for this reason that I believe we don't have keyboards. I don't buy the "there's no demand for it" claim. If you go to best buy.com and look at the sales rankings you will see that landscape slider feature phones outsell all WP's.

Totally agree with your disagreement. :) I have an HTC Arrive, and it's without a doubt the nicest non-Blackberry physical keyboard I've ever used...but its lack of support of landscape mode is just plain bizarre and an unacceptable oversight (I think that's a kind way to put it). But it's a great workhorse phone...extremely reliable.

I think the main problem is that there has never been a truly excellent Windows Phone 7 or 8 with a physical keyboard...the specs are always mediocre to weak, or there's some tragic flaw to the phone. Yes, the QWERTY keyboard market is smaller than it used to be, but I don't think many people realize how large it still is, and the staying power it has.
