This website is one of THE WORST sites for me to browse. I don't get it, if this is "windows central" and I'm using EDGE, how come it takes FOREVER to navigate through this site?? pop up ads and hints and blinking and flashing and everything popping at me, it takes too long to actually pull up a useful article on here. what gives? if this topic came up before in this forum, so what? i don't have the time to try to search for such a thread.

I respect the content of the articles, and admire the staff's knowledge but this site needs some major optimization.

Agreed, but keep in mind this is a fan run site. It is not run by Microsoft, so don't expect it to work any better with Edge than any other site.

Agreed. I understand that they need ads to make some cash, but the site is sooooooo slow, I don't stay on long enough to actually click on any.

thanks for the feedback, and i took Daniel's advice about Opera - WOW what a difference...so much faster all around. he also touched on the fact that their code for this site is efficient but their ad partners' code is the problem (which isn't currently something the WC team can control).

no it doesn't ... it does seem faster though. But now since chinese companies are taking over Opera, I've gone and uninstalled it. back to Edge!

I've recently ditched Opera due to privacy concerns and gone over to SRWare Iron. Chromium based, but without all the Google telemetry. Gets Chrome extensions. I run Iron with AdBlock + and Ghostery. Runs fast on WC and elsewhere. May be the fastest browser I've ever used. Privacy forward and I've not had issues with site compatibility anywhere.

SRWare Iron - The Browser of the Future

Waiting for extensions to hit Edge (on current branch) before I give Edge another try.
