Blog Comments Bad Attitudes

This is something I'm noticing more and more in the comments when articles are published.

Today alone I've seen a guy being told to "go die in a fire" and another being told that he's a "******." Is there really any need for this?

We're a community here and we're all here because we have an interest in or use a Windows Phone. WPC is my first port of call every day when I lift my phone in the morning but it's being ruined by people with bad attitude using language that doesn't belong on any website.

I was basically attacked earlier in the week when I pointed out that my back doesn't have a Windows Phone app. If any weakness is pointed out our criticism is made its jumped all over.

It's becoming painful to read. Can something be done about this?

Best thing that can be done I guess is use the 'report post' button at the top right of each post (the little ! in a triangle). Replying back to the comments just fans the flames.

Not available in global post/blog post :unhappy: but once can copy the comment URL and send a PM to any moderator available online here on WPC forum.

Yeah, that can't be done, at least not from the app.

Agree..

The forums these days are fuill of spoilt brats who want it NOW, or are too busy wondering why low end devices can't run the latest software.
Of course they attack either MS, WP or anyone who dares have an argument opposite to their 'world view'. They are their own worst enemies.

I know it's hard, but try and ignore them or report the post, as suggested.

Re: Forum Bad Attitudes

It seems like we are discussing two separate issues.

If you notice problems in the forums, please report and the moderators will take care of it.

The blog comments are a separate matter. The writers handle the blog comments, but the moderators do not. We only handle the forums.

Yes Laura, it's the blog comments, not forum posts. Can they not be moderated?

Not by me or any of the moderators. We are forum moderators only. The blogs are not part of our responsibilities.

I've edited the title of the thread to reflect the scope of the question.

That's why the abuse and nonsense happens then, they're not being moderated. Thanks for clearing that up.

I do know that staff is working on things to help solve that problem. Things should improve once new procedures are in place.

I asked James to clear up some global post comments and he did it. It would be great if mod will gain access to moderate global post in future.
