Bluetooth A2DP Performance

Is anyone else having horrible sound quality when using A2DP? It sounds like the insn't enough bandwidth or that the bitrate has been lowered when playing to my headphones.

I know its not the headphones as I can use them just fine on my laptop via A2DP and they sound great. Is there a way to adjust any of the bluetooth settings or am I out of luck?
