Hi all. I am contemplating purchasing a used Lumia 830, upgrade it to Win 10 (is that possible?) A big concern I have is connecting via Bluetooth to utilize my in vehicle phone. I answer and disconnect with the buttons on the steering wheel. The address book is also "loaded" and I can select a contact, push the "call" button and the vehicle system makes the call which is heard via the vehicle speakers. Do any of you have experience with this? If not the 830 do you know of a Windows phone that DOES work.
Thank You

First of all, you can indeed buy a secondhand 830 and upgrade it. (I may be out-of-date but I believe gordonfink is peddling one such phone in the marketplace.)

Windows Phone is indeed capable of the handsfree stuff you describe. My Hyundai has a similar system (as in functionality) and it didn't pose issues for my 640. (which is largely the same under-the-hood.)

Guaranteeing that it will work with your specific car though, I can't confirm that because I never driven or otherwise used the BT system of a Benz with any phone.

I purchased a new 830, turned on the Bluetooth, in settings>Devices>Bluetooth>Advanced, check "Use an alternate Bluetooth audio connection for speech, than settings>Devices>NFC, Tap to share>ON, under that is a drop down box, I sellected "Anytime".
The vehicle found my phone, entered the code and all is good. I am happy. So far I am happy with the Windows phone also. Part of the reason I went with Windows was to get away from Google on my Android Phone. I updated the phone to Win 10 before I did anything else with it.
Thanks
