bluetooth icon no longer appears since upgrade to windows 8.1

The bluetooth icon no longer appears my lumia 720 since it upgraded to windows 8.1.

Does anyone know how to get the icon to reappear? Bluetooth works, just the icon doesn't appear when bluetooth is switched on any longer.

Have you tried powering the phone off and on? Have you tried a soft reset holding Volume Down + On button together?
