Bluetooth won't connect

Please help. I can't connect my Nokia Lumia 521 to my Motorola EQ5 bluetooth speaker. When I try to pair it, it asks for the code. I put in "0000" as the instruction says but after a few seconds it says: "can't connect". The Nokia Lumia 521 will connect to another Bluetooth device, though (under the cabinet radio). And the Mototorola EQ5 will connect to my I-Pad.

Does your Motorola Bluetooth speaker have the latest firmware?

Thanks for the suggestion but I finally got the connection working after many tries. I don't know why it didn't work first.
