I just pulled the trigger on a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro (I actually gave a MacBook Pro some thought :amaze: ). The fate of my RT is up in the air. I also have my desktop that's not that old - I assembled it only a year ago.

For others in a similar position, what are your use cases with your RT and other device(s). Or did you get rid of your RT or replace it?

I'm considering getting the HP 1000 when it ships later this year. I will be in the same boat as you are in now. If I were to get a tablet / laptop replacement, I suppose I would hold on to my RT simply because it isn't worth much now. I would most likely just use it as just another device, perhaps a bathroom reader or maybe it would make a nice gift.

That Yoga 2 Pro looks amazing. As for what to do with the RT, I have a ton of notebooks, tablets, and smartphones. So I too had to make a decision about the RT. I agree with strikeswp, the RT is not worth much now... but may actually rise in value temporarily later this year when the RT's are all sold and all that's left are Surface 2 devices at a much higher price.

Having said that, I'm keeping my RT. I've got it tweaked to maximize performance and battery life. It still does things that no other tablet is capable of and still has a (near) full version of MS Office. I bought a presentation remote for it and can give presentations using it either directly on the screen when sitting a table or when attached to a projector or HDTV.

My 64GB iPad 4 is still my main tablet, but the RT is a good complement.

Yeah, my inclination is to keep it for times when I don't want to lug around something bigger, or for lying in bed, taking a dump, etc. Street value is also a factor.

I'll find out soon enough how it fits in w/my new toy. Est delivery date was changed from 3/4 to 2/27.

I have a 2011 iMac and a windows 7 15.6inch laptop that is upgraded to Windows 8.1. And my Surface Pro. If my other two machines failed I would be just fine using my Surface Pro. I use it about 95% of the time.

I always had an Ultrabook in addtion to my Surface. The former beeing a notebook and the latter beeing a tablet. Do not kid yourself and think the Yoga is a (good) tablet.

What tweaks have you done to it and how long do you get out of the battery? The reason I ask is because I'm getting somewhere around 10-11 hours of web surfing and the like on 50% screen brightness which I think is fairly good.

The tweaks can be found in the Surface RT and Surface 2 subforums on this site. No super-secret tweaks just stuff that has been floating around the net for the last 8 months or so.

I'm getting about that as well.

Just got my Y2P. I appreciate that the RT comes free of bloatware. Lenovo is not as bad as some OEMs, but still, this crap is BS.

I use my Surface for on the go stuff at work or at coffee shops. I have an ultra book that allows me to work from any room. My desktop is pretty much a Steam Machine now. They all have their own uses. My Surface fits in my briefcase with a textbook much easier than my laptop.
