brand new pc windows 10 the windows icon does nothing

I clicked on the icon to get the start menu and nothing happens
also there is no search

Is it connected to the internet? There are so many updates occurring and indexing of your hard drive it may be causing it not to be responsive. I would let it sit there for a while. Did you also create a Microsoft account? What happens when you right click on the taskbar?
