Hello - I am 'sub-dividing' the 'remaining 800Gb' of a 1T SSD of an HP 15-da Notebook, since I was 'running out of room' on the C-drive. There is plenty of space on the New Partition I created, ca 200Gb and a bit over 200G on the C: drive. My concern is that this 'Old" pc is starting to fail - Camera dies, touchpad wonky, Battery losing charge rapidly - and I'm concerned I won't be able to get the files transferred ( after cleaning) to a new pc.
So, I followed the 'old' (2023- 'How to move files' ) instructions to Move Files & Folders from C-drive to a new partitioned drive. It seems the 'new' partition is OK (thousands of files) but the 'Original" C-location DID NOT DELETE all of the old files. Many Folders DID Delete but 'loose files' that were Not in Folders still are on the c: drive. I have Re-booted and they are still there. And "newly created' files Are saving to the 'NEW" drive correctly. Is this 'common' or will this cause problems 'down the road'?
