Burst Mode gone :-(

The new Camera app, which incorporates features of Lumia Camera is really barebones. You can configure Camera button long press to do a burst, but it just takes photos one after the other really slowly.

Also, these photos appear separately in the Photos app. I have the 830 without Full Denim, so can't use Lumia Camera either.

has anyone figured out how to enable true Burst mode, or are there any good 3rd party apps which do good burst?

Not sure that it does much or effectively yet, but have you tried setting Bracketing? On my 635 that takes you to exposure bracketing and offers 3 or 5 shots and three different exposure ranges for the shots. Still slow, but I think that's a function of being a 635.

Thanks , but that is something entire different. Will try a few apps from the store today.

​thanks. Without Denim, it only makes 1080p videos and the photos out of that are too low res.

​I found that the old Nokia Camera does a good job with the "smart sequence" feature, but the workflow (saving one frame out of many) etc is too complicated. Hope they overhaul the native apps soon.

"Fast Camera" is a great burst 3rd party app

his app allows you to capture multiple shots without you having to click again and again.
You can set the number of captures to be 3,5 or 10 and the camera will take continuous shots.
The pictures taken are saved in Camera Roll like the pictures taken by default device camera.

Added feature to select supported sizes.
Camera hardkey can be now used to capture images too.

Thanks all for your suggestions, but it seems Microsoft used some hardware level trickery with its native camera app in 8.1. I used many burst photo apps including fast camera, but cannot replicate the functionality and speed of the native app in 8.1.

1. Shoot 25-30 full res photos instantly without delay
2. Have these photos saved on to the memory card within a few seconds
3. Have all the photos within the burst show up as a single photo, with an easy way to choose the beat photo(s) and delete the rest.

I hope someone finds a way to launch the old camera app in Win 10, provided its code is still there (similar to how you can launch the old 8.0 music player app in 8.1)
