Call alert volume won't stay at max. Also changes to external speaker when making call.

Hi

My 620 seems to be defaulting to volume 18 after a restart. I'd rather it stay at 30.

Also when I make a call and it's engaged, it changes from internal to external speaker after about 2-3 seconds of engaged tone, without any prompting from me.

Did a phone reset around a week ago because it failed to recognise any SD card, but can do another one if need be. Phone is two weeks old running latest firmware.

Any suggestions? Thanks :eek:rly:

The volume will always revert to a default level after a restart. This isn't a bug but a so called "safety feature" to prevent hearing damage if we should accidentally forget to lower the volume when listening to music through a headset/ear buds. I personally think it should be up to us to decide these things but I suppose they're covering themselves in case anyone decides to sue.

Thanks for the info- it's completely ridiculous that this should apply to call alert volume. I don't even use the phone for listening to music! Are there any plans to separate them in the future?

My point about engaged signal going through external speaker. Anyone, please?

Yep it's crazy that they have not given separate volume controls(for music, calls, notifications, like the one in android). I too hope it will be fixed in the future :)

It shouldnt go to the external speaker after 2-3 secs of engaged tones. Not sure about the issue there.

So, no separate vol controls (and call alert volume that defaults to 18 every restart), charging only while phone is on, no forward function for IE, Battery live tile can only update every 30 mins, plus other things- I assume these are all to do with the OS and cannot be changed by Nokia? Given that the latest firmware fixes the 'multi-touch' issue, something that the vast majority of users couldn't care less about. :eek:rly:

I have same problem. I can accept that alert volume gets reset after restart, but I have noticed it happening even if phone is just kept idle for more than 15 min, it automatically resets call alert volume to 14 or so. I do not know which application does it. I have also turned off battery saver option, thinking that it might be causing the issue, but issue persists.
Noticed that you can not set unique alerts to each mailboxes configured in your phone.
